As required by the Code of Canon Law (c.537) each parish and Mission (Parishes) within the diocese of Hamilton in Ontario is required to have a finance council whose role is to assist and advise the Pastor in the administration of the temporal goods of the Parish. The overall responsibility of the Finance Council is to review the financial situation and management of the parish, which includes the process of internal control and financial reporting.

At St Mary Immaculate, Elora and St Martin of Tours, Drayton the finance council presents an annual report of the financial management and situation of the parish and this report is often presented to parishioners within the first quarter of each year.
