Our Restorations - Repair & Repainting of the ceiling 2006

  Jan.23rd Work began in the church by removing & storing our organ pipes.
  Jan.24th The remainder of the organ was covered in plastic and the scaffold for the ceiling  plaster & paint repairs was started.

  Jan.25-26th Scaffold continued to be erected & masses are still being held at their regular time each day.

  Jan.29th At 5:00 pm Mass the scaffold, appeared to be complete. Photo 4

 

  Feb.1st The guys where busy today covering virtually everything in plastic. Photo 5
  Feb.2nd This morning there's a maze of scaffold & decking. There's also a layer of plastic about 3 meters or 12 feet above the floor, & you can no longer view any progress from the floor!! Photo 6 was shot from the top decking.
  Feb.15th Plaster repairs on the ceiling are complete & ready for paint. The walls are next. It's tough to get up to the area where the work is going on for photo opportunities. Many thanks to Steve Pollock, who got us these  pictures.

Hard hats are non mandatory during church services....Back  

Watch Your Head
The clearance into the pews is only about 1.7 meters or say... 5' 10", & one of our senior staff has already whacked his head! It's OK though...
The scaffold was only slightly damaged.
