ST. MARY IMMACULATE

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

ELORA, ONTARIO, CANADA

Traditional Choir

Our goal is to glorify God through music each week at Mass. In doing this we hope to enhance the liturgy, support the faithful in their worship, and encourage congregational singing.

We meet Wednesday evenings in the church from 7:30-9 for rehearsal. This time is spent preparing for the following weekend and for special occasions and feast days. We also work on the basics of vocal technique, music reading, and sightsinging skills. A lot of our materials from week to week are taken from the Catholic Book of Worship III, but we also sing materials from other sources. We are especially working on adding more Gregorian chant to our repertoire.

Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact the church office or music director, or just come up and talk to us after Mass. We are always looking for new members. No experience necessary, all are welcome!
